No, none of that is true, and you can gaslight yourself into thinking it is
But it is all bullshit, the belief in which is now a requirement for membership in a party that has become a full on cult.
There was no material case made by dems or anyone else about voting machines in 2004 or ever. That is not to say that there aren’t always isolated cases of sour grapes when a party loses - but 100s of dems never voted to deny certification during a process on Jan 6 that nobody ever even heard of before this year. There was no call by the losing candidate for his supporters to gather on that day over bullshit about voting machines. There were certainly no calls from Washington dems to state election officials demanding that they “find votes” or refuse to certify state and local election results.
That is the overarching point. Whatever you are clinging to in order to tow the party line, reality is we have never seen anything like repub reactions to 2020 in this country. The entire case in the court of public opinion was about these fantasy conspiracy theories. In terms of this weekend’s Trump nonsense, he simply stated as fact the opposite of what the Ninjas reported in Arizona, to the delight of his mobs, who eagerly join him in fantasy land.
What you do is in essence fail to recognize the verdicts of the courts, which are the final arbiters of questions like “did rule changes made during a pandemic year impact the outcome of the election”. All such assertions were answered by the courts - yes, including, in some cases, refusal to hear cases. But that’s how it works - you make your assertions in court, and when they are exhausted, we accept the outcome in this country.
That’s another core tenet you ignore in your effort to join in the repub campaign to undermine our elections. I have seen you basically assert that when the courts don’t give you the answer you want, you just move to partisan legislatures, which is of course the last place such disputes should be litigated.
A precedent was 2000. The dems denied the result of that election. If you ask me, many, if not most, believe the courts got that wrong (I was a Bush voter at the time, so I did not assert that). But they accepted it. They stopped disputing the results, Gore conceded, and the dems did no more than make token objections over the certification (as in 2004, and a handful of other elections) that this year resulted in a violent assault on the Capitol. To violently attempt to overthrow the election.
Destroy faith in America’s ability to hold elections, and in America’s ability to arbitrate disputes through our judiciary. That is exactly what the repubs are doing, regardless of what you may think you are doing, and there is no precedent in dem or repub reactions to prior elections.
